Terms of Use

These Terms govern your use of App Lock for Android (package com.mushroomstudio.applock, the "App") and this website, provided by Mushroom Studio. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.

1. Use the App with permission

You may use the App for lawful personal or otherwise authorized purposes on a device you own or are authorized to manage. Do not use it to monitor another person covertly, interfere with their access without authorization, impersonate another service, or gain unauthorized access to apps, accounts, or files.

2. Permissions and device compatibility

App protection requires the permissions and services explained in the App, including Accessibility access and display-over-other-apps access. You control those permissions in Android Settings. Revoking access, disabling the service, force-stopping or uninstalling the App, or device background restrictions can interrupt protection.

Biometric authentication depends on your device hardware, enrolled biometrics, Android version, and system security settings. A device's available biometric method is not guaranteed to identify only one specific modality, such as face or fingerprint.

3. Protection has limits

App Lock adds an app-level lock interface; it is not a replacement for Android's screen lock, device encryption, or backups. We do not guarantee that it will prevent every form of access, operate continuously on every device, or remain effective on modified or rooted systems. When a lock schedule is enabled, protection applies only during the configured active interval.

You are responsible for your pattern and device access. We do not promise recovery of a forgotten pattern or files after app data is cleared. Do not rely on the App as the sole safeguard for critical or irreplaceable information.

4. Files, exports, and backups

You are responsible for the files you import, record, download, share, or export, and for the rights necessary to use them. The local file area is not a cloud-backup service and is not represented as a separately encrypted storage system.

Keep independent backups before deleting files, clearing app data, reinstalling, or uninstalling. Source files and exported or shared copies can remain outside the App and are governed by the receiving app's security and storage behavior.

5. Browsing and third-party content

Websites opened in the built-in browser, search services, downloaded content, and other apps operate under their own terms and privacy policies. You must respect copyright, privacy, access restrictions, and applicable law. App Lock does not grant rights to third-party content or provide a VPN or anonymous network connection.

Website compatibility, downloads, media playback, cookies, and available formats can change. Mushroom Studio is not affiliated with a third-party service merely because the App can open it.

6. Privacy

The Privacy Policy explains local data, permissions, Google Analytics for Firebase, Firebase Crashlytics, website hosting, support communications, and retention. Read it before enabling permissions or storing personal content.

7. Updates and availability

We may update features, compatibility, and these Terms as the App and Android change. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, support for every device or app, or permanent availability of every feature. This website does not itself sell a subscription or process a payment.

8. Disclaimer and liability

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the App and website are provided "as is" and "as available", without a guarantee of error-free operation, complete security, or recovery of lost data. To that same extent, Mushroom Studio is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use or inability to use the App, including loss of data or access. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights, warranties, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Stopping use and changes to these Terms

You may stop using the App, disable its services, or uninstall it at any time. Export important files first. We may revise these Terms and update the effective date; where required, material changes will be notified appropriately. Your rights under mandatory applicable law remain unaffected.
